Arago Street dates back to 1863, and was created as part of Ildefons Cerdà's urban plan, beginning as L Street in 1867. The name Carrer d'Aragó harks back a reference to the Crown of Aragon. Called Calle de Aragón in Spanish, it starts in Carrer de Tarragona and becomes Rambla de Guipúscoa at the intersection with Carrer de Lope de Vega.
